WordPress Themes Week

Since this is a resources blog (at least for now), I decided to dedicate this week to WordPress Themes. I’ll be posting at least 2 WordPress Themes every day from Monday to Friday and I’ll only display themes that I would use and themes that I think you will like. I won’t be writing much this week since I’ll just post screenshots and download links. I’ll start off the WordPress Themes Week by posting this nice and clean theme called Salmon.

Tener VS

Tener VS

I’ve been using Tener VS for a couple of months already and I think it’s a great visual style for Windows XP users. Tener VS was made by Mohsin Naqi and this is what he wrote about it:

I was basically aiming to release the next version of Pristine OS by making some small improvements to it and removing a few glitches reported so far, but as the work progressed I ended up with something completely different from Pristine OS (more than a little different anyway) hence the Tener VS. Obviously, this is another inspiration from Windows Vista GUI but as always I didn’t go for a copycat Vista theme and tried to give it my own touch. I hope you’ll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it :)

Tener VS can be downloaded from Mohsin Naqi’s deviantART gallery.

If you are not sure how to use a visual style, I wrote a quick tutorial in the Deskmod page.

    Think Before You Blog

As I read more blogs and learn more about blogging, I’ve been changing the way I blog or at least I’ve been trying. When I first created this blog, I wanted to just make a list of resources that readers could go to and find whatever they wanted. Every post would provide an image, a description, and a link back to the web site that was providing the resource. However, I felt like I also needed to share personal experiences and my own opinions. So, I’ve been trying to write more and quote less. This way I can share my point of view with you all. The blog may change as the time goes by, but hopefully it’ll just change for the better. (:

    Smooth Metal Software Pack

    The Last Order: Candy

These two sets displayed above were made by Rokey more than three years ago. These icons may be old, but I think that they still look great. I’ve used some of these icons before for my dock and I used to like them very much. He has a website but unfortunately most of the content is written in Chinese. You should definitely check his portfolio and the download section though. This tutorial that has been translated to English is also worth checking: ‘How to make your icons outstanding.’ Rokey also has a deviantART profile with a great gallery where you can download some of his works. He usually provides his icon sets in more than one format since people may have different uses for them.

I’m not sure why he hasn’t released any new icon sets lately. It seems that he’s been busy involved in various projects and events. Drop a message if you know anything. (:
